Irish Day 2007

Friends and family proudly marched behind The Michelle O’Neill Foundation’s green banner on Saturday, October 6, 2007, to represent the Foundation and to demonstrate our thanks to the Long Beach community for their love and support in our mission to benefit children with cancer.  Our group met on Washington Boulevard and proceeded along Beech Street throughout the West End of Long Beach to the animated cheers of record-breaking spectators.  Attired in various forms of our “Smiley Wear,” we walked in “unmilitary” formation, pushed strollers and pulled little red wagons while totally enjoying the enthusiastic approval from our supporters and listening to the bagpipe music.  We disbanded on Ohio Avenue, and then visited the vendors and our local merchants who serve our community and give the West End its own unique flavor.

We look forward to St. Brendan’s Day in Long Beach next year, and will post an invitation to join us in our march in 2008.
